Built for the future...
Our company was founded in 2016 by a group of very talented programmers in response to endless frustration with existing uptime monitor services. At the time we had about 20 servers that needed monitored for various services like SMTP and HTTP. Our two main gripes were that the existing uptime monitors were either too expensive or provided such horrendous interface that it simply didn't inspire any confidence in its use.
We put together some preliminary code to test remote machines for uptime and quickly realized that building our own in-house uptime monitor was well within reach. And so it began. About 6 months later, we had a fully functioning uptime monitor that we started using for our own internal purposes.
The staff ended up liking it so much that we started to improve upon it ultimately realizing that others, outside of our own organization, would most likely be interested in using our service. That's how "Pingerator" was born. That's right - our original name was just that - "Pingerator".
In sharp contrast to our service, the name of the company did not stick and in 2019, we changed it to Cloudsome. This, in a nutshell, is our very unremarkable story.
